Thessaloniki Airport to Makedonia Palace Private Transfers

Makedonia Palace was Thessaloniki’s first luxury hotel when it opened in 1972, and it reopened in 2017 after a complete renovation. It stands at 2 Megalou Alexandrou Avenue on the eastern seafront, a pleasant walk along the waterfront promenade from the White Tower and close to the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre (HELEXPO). Today it is part of the WorldHotels Luxury collection, with an outdoor pool, a spa and conference rooms with views over the Thermaic Gulf.

Because the hotel sits on the airport side of Thessaloniki, the transfer is shorter than a trip into the old town – the route summary at the top of this page shows the exact distance and the usual driving time. Allow a little extra on weekday rush hours and during the Thessaloniki International Fair in September, when the hotel and the surrounding streets are at their busiest.

Your driver stops at the hotel entrance on Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, under the covered canopy the hotel uses for arrivals and departures. You step out under cover, right at the door, and your driver helps you with your luggage to the entrance.

For your return to the airport, your driver waits for you at the same covered entrance at the time you have booked. You receive the driver’s name, phone number and vehicle details before your transfer.

From Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) the route heads towards the city on Georgikis Scholis Avenue, continues along Vasilissis Olgas Avenue and turns onto Megalou Alexandrou Avenue by the sea, where the hotel stands on the waterfront. There are no tolls on this route, and your fixed price stays the same whatever the traffic.
